Purpose
The Downtown Development Authority (DDA) was created in 1995.  It was designed to follow Public Act 197 of 1975 to capture tax dollars to invest in the TIFA district of the Village of Mancelona.  Over the past years the DDA has improved the look of the downtown area and cleaned up blight within the district.  They have funded projects through match grants and tifa capture to put decorative street lights up and new sidewalks, built a market pavilion, installed adult exercise equipment at Railroad Park and several other projects to beautify the community.
